Third week

6 maart 2018 - Grasmere, Verenigd Koninkrijk

It is the third week already and I have some good and bad news. I will begin with the good news. Romee, a classmate of mine, contacted me from Lincoln whether the hotel needs an employee. I asked the manager and he gave the permission that Romee is allowed to come. On 28th of February together with the manager we went to the Windermere station to pick up Romee. It was really relieving to see someone who I know after three weeks. I won’t be alone here anymore! On that day Romee got lucky that she took the last train to come to Windermere because all of the trains were cancelled due to bad weather condition.

Two other workawayers were supposed to leave on the same day but they stayed a bit longer with us because there was no train to their destination. Together with them we went outside and made a snowman and had a snow-fight which was really fun.

The bad news is that the whole week the internet was down at the hotel. I couldn’t do anything regarding my school stuff. On our day off I couldn’t go anywhere because everywhere sleet and slippery and I don’t have the right shoes to go outside. I couldn’t speak to my family the whole week because of bad internet connection.

Also I e-mailed The Lakes School again because they didn’t say anything and once again they ignored my e-mails. I find it quite a peculiar situation. If they don’t want me to visit their school, at least they could write an e-mail to me. I even called them and made sure that they have received my e-mail and the receptionist told me that the headmaster will contact me this week but still nothing in my inbox. Now I have to find another school nearby as soon as possible. The clock is ticking.
