Last Week

12 mei 2018 - Grasmere, Verenigd Koninkrijk

Well this was my last week here in Windermere. I must say that these three months have been like a rollercoaster. Looking back it started pretty shit to be honest. I wasn’t picked up from the station and I thought I have been flashed but luckily I had a picture of the hotel and a fine taxi driver helped me to find the hotel. Later on, I was told that I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t pick up from the station. All the other people were in the same situation when they arrived.

My room was a mess and we didn’t have a decent heater. I was like ‘’I’ve made the worst decision of my life’’. And at schools didn’t want me to visit the school which I found quite odd. There was a point that I just wanted to go back home.

On the other hand, I met a lot of lovely people and befriended them. Windermere itself is a very beautiful place. I have never seen mountains and lakes like these. And to stay in a place where once some famous people visited such as; William Wordsworth, Charles Darwin, Beatrix Potter, Charles Dickens and many more. It felt quite special.

I have learned a lot from this experience. It was my first time to travel alone for a long time without family. Looking back, it has been the best decision in my life. And my journey hasn’t closed yet. I have booked my flight to Australia. Yes you haven’t misread it. To Australia!!!!

My classmates and friends who are in Australia right now have persuaded me to join them. It is a 24 hour flight which I’m not looking forward to but they idea to make a road trip just pumps me. My friends are staying in Gold Coast at the moment but we have already bought a car. We’ll make a road trip from Byron Bay to Cairns!!!

So hopefully you’ve enjoyed my blogs and I’m looking forward to my next adventure!!! See ya!
