Second week

Week 2

It is the second week now in Grasmere Lake District. It has been quite a busy week for me. I have been working each and every day for five hours. In my free time I try socialise with the staff members. Although I must admit I haven’t been outside this week except for once. Due to the weather circumstances I chose not to go hiking or explore the area. On our day off some Brazilian staff members convinced me to go to Windermere on foot which took like 5-6 hours to reach there!! It was a record for me to experience this kind of an adventure. We went to Ambelside which is a tad bigger than Grassmere. There we took a small break and had lunch. We decided to go to Windermere which is 10 km from Ambelside. It was so tiring and my legs and feet were hurting badly. Actually we didn’t do much in Windermere, just walked around and the Brazilians were so enthusiastic to walk back to the hotel. I told them I can’t move anymore so luckily we took the bus. 

For my research I have planned to visit some secondary school here. Therefore I contacted two secondary schools in Windermere; The Windermere School which is a private school and The Lakes School which is a comprehension school. The private school has responded with a welcoming message but they want to do some security check which takes time and the state school still hasn’t responded yet. Hopefully they will invite me to conduct my research at their school.
