Being a workawayer has a lot of advantages such as; learning new skills at a workplace, meeting new people and improve your language skills. Most of the time the host of workaway provides you with a free accomodation and warm meal. But it also has disadvantages. Meeting new people creates a friendship bond. Because workaway is a temporary experience, you have to say goodbye at a certain period of time.

Unfortunately this was a week of goodbye. First the two Germans left the hotel. We had a close friendship relation and it was quite horrendous to say goodbye. The two Germans were very brisk. We had a lot of fun on our free time. Now that the two has left, it is a bit quiet. We even made a group-chat to be in touch. Fortunately we still have other workawayers around us.

The next day the French girl had to leave as well. She was one of the most experienced workawayer among us. Now we are left with three less workawayers. The hotel is now quieter. All we have now are six workawayers. Everyone went to bed early. The fun we had few weeks before is gone.

I asked my manager to take a few days off because it is the Persian New Year. I’m planning to go to London to my relatives and celebrate our New Year. On Tuesday I came to London which was quite a long trip. It was the night before the feast. Usually it takes only three days to celebrate the festival but some people celebrate it like for seven days. Well I’m still in London and have visited a lot of places where I hadn’t been there before. Southall was one of the places that I visited this week. It’s a place with a lot of South-Asian people. It felt like I was in India or Pakistan. Everyone was speaking in Hindi/Urdu which was actually surprising. But I liked it to be honest. In the next few days I’ll be visiting some museums and other famous places.
